Koldilor Bor : a snack of banana flower.
Very delicious and easy to make, can be served as a snack with a cup of tea or with meals. For this recipe, we need only the thin long flowers inside the koldil.
Ingredients :1 Koldil
3tbsp Besan (Bengal gram flour), salt to taste.
little chilly powder (optional)
Oil for frying.
You will find thin long flowers as you keep taking off the layers of koldil. Remove them ...
...take off the hard long stamens from each flower.
Cook in water adding little salt till the flowers are tender.
Take out from water and keep on a soup strainer to let water drain out.
Make a thick batter mixing besan, salt and chilly(optional) with half cup water.
Dip the flowers in this batter .....
.... heat oil and fry the koldil flowers in medium heat, till golden brown.
Koldilor bor is ready, serve them piping hot.
